What is this course's project?

You will edit and mix the soundtrack of an audiovisual scene. You will work, together with Nadine, in the construction of a sound atmosphere, particular noises, and dialogue editing, to finally achieve a professional 2.0 stereo mix.

You will need to have basic Pro Tools skills and basic knowledge of the audiovisual language.

You must have a computer with Pro Tools software installed—or some other sound editing program that works with images—a microphone, and sound monitors with good quality.

Nadine has been a sound post-producer for 30 years. She works creating and editing soundtracks for film and television at Aural, a sound studio where she shares her work regularly. In addition, she teaches young filmmakers and digital animators.

She has participated in the sound and mixing of multiple Chilean and Latin American film projects such as La Telenovela Errante, a feature film by Raúl Ruiz; Caught in Japan, a documentary by Vivienne Barry, and Garage Olimpo by Marco Bequis, among others. Nadine specializes in recording, dubbing direction, and sound design. In 2017, she was named Featured Woman at the FEMCINE7 Women's Film Festival, for her career and contribution to the audiovisual medium.
