In addition to typography and the color palette, a brand's identity can also be reflected through movement. Guillermo Zapiola is a graphic designer and art director who, after some work experience in design, discovered his passion for animated branding. Since then, he has developed graphic identity systems for brands such as American Express, HBO, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, and Oreo, among other.
In this course, learn to design, animate, and present an identity project that reflects the spirit of a brand by establishing a strong link between design and animation.

Design four animated pieces for an identity system for a fictitious client. Guillermo gives you four briefs to choose from, each with different brand attributes that can be exploited in a visual way.

Requirements and materials
Basic knowledge of design as well as a computer with Adobe Illustrator, After Effects, and Photoshop installed. You can download trial versions for these programs on the official Adobe website.

Guillermo Zapiola is from Patagonia (Argentina). His interest in visual work and problem solving began in high school. He went on to study graphic design at FADU (Buenos Aires University) and specialized professionally in graphic design, animation, 3D (CGI), and Photography.
While working in different design studios and advertising agencies, he learned to generate visual identities by considering the characteristics of each medium. He is currently an art director at the animation and design studio Plenty in Buenos Aires (Argentina).

I like the way Guillermo explains his thought process when approaching a project as such because it gives me an idea of how motion graphics fit into the design system of a visual identity. Also, I learnt a lot about his creative process and how he uses his design inspirations and makes them fit into the project at hand.
Including his editing in the execution step makes the entire course a bit long, and that is the only downside I can think of.

PlusEstoy comenzando a verlo (voy casi en la 3 parte), esta muy enfocado en explicar el antes y el porque de la toma de decisiones al animar. No esta mal, solo que no es lo que buscaba. Quería algo más práctico se hace muy largo al ver con tanta explicación del antes e inspiración.
