The chicha poster is one of the best known manifestations of Peruvian folk art, characterized by the use of fluorescent colored letters, materialized in posters that are stamped throughout the city to announce Andean cumbia concerts. A process that forgets computers to give value to 100% manual work.
Elliot Tupac is a serigraphist and lettering artist referent in the chicha poster scene, in which he has specialized since 2004. From Elliot's hand you will learn the singular art behind the chicha poster and its vibrant colors.

You will not need drawing experience, but having it will help you explore more calligraphy options and lettering .
As for materials, you will need a squeegee, a frame (if you do not have it, Elliot will teach you how to make one), sheets of paper 80 grammage and size 50 cm x 70 cm, ink for paper, pencils, erasers and a cutter.
