Nolwen Cifuentes is an editorial and portrait photographer from California. She studied graphic design at UCLA before deciding to pursue photography, eventually gaining industry experience shooting weddings. Nolwen then expanded into different styles of photography and, after being featured in a magazine, started reaching out to editors and booking jobs.
Since then, she has captured portraits for well-known magazines, media, tech, beauty, and fashion brands. Her clients include Netflix, People, The New York Times, Entertainment Weekly, and Variety. She was also featured on The Lit List’s 30 New + Emerging Photographers to Watch. Nolwen is passionate about making content that represents the people she didn’t see in the media growing up, and she is a member of Women Photograph, Diversify Photo, and Authority Collective.

There is some useful information to take away from this course, though I was somewhat put off by the goofy nature of the photo shoot itself. That's usually my favorite part of these photography courses. This time, I couldn't wait for it to be over. It's probably owed to the fact that the subjects aren't models, and went through the entire session seeming completely out of their element. I understand sometimes a client oriented photographer will encounter this, so some might enjoy the watch.
