Want to emulate all the processes of a professional music studio with just your computer? Luca Petricca, sound technician, music producer, and cofounder of Reno Studios, teaches you how to use Pro Tools in this six-course Domestika Basics. With this Avid program, discover how to capture performances and compose songs, recreate instruments, mix smoothly, and explore post-production sound for film or the Internet.

In his previous online course Mixing Music with Pro Tools, Luca reveals his creative process for bringing out the full potential of instruments and vocals in a song. This time, your teacher goes one step further by explaining the techniques, tricks, and secrets of the software to open up a whole world of possibilities in different markets.

To start, Luca Petricca talks you through the different versions of Pro Tools and explains how to install it, set your preferences, and create tracks from scratch.

Next, delve into the tools, editing types, and meter rulers of the program before practicing with MIDI, which allows you to get your hands on a real orchestra.

Then, get stuck into your first project. See how to work with different tracks and playback modes, as well as how to save and locate sessions.

In the fourth course, discover step by step how to record audio and MIDI. Learn about setup, routing, recording, importing data and video, and how to edit and clean up your recordings.

Afterwards, Luca teaches you how to prepare the mix. Look at how to create your template using Automation and Elastic Audio, among other functions.

Finally, in the sixth course, your teacher talks about plug-ins , what types there are, and what they can add to your projects.

Technical requirements

    - 16GB RAM (32GB recommended)
    - 15GB of disk space for installation
    - macOS 10.13.6 or later, or Windows 10

Luca Petricca

Teacher Plus
Sound Technician and Music Producer

Luca Petricca is a sound technician and music producer with more than 20 years of experience, as well as the cofounder of Estudios Reno in Madrid. After ten years of freelance work as a mixer, associate producer, and technician for different producers in studios across Spain, he created Reno so he could focus on independent music, a section of the industry he connects with on a more personal and emotional level. He has mixed albums and songs for artists like Izal, Xoel López, and León Benavente.

When he's not running his studio or the FOH for live shows, he shares his knowledge of mixing as a professor at the United Pop school in Madrid. By teaching classes, he has found a way to help students interested in sound achieve more professional results and, ultimately, a more satisfying creative experience by showing them how to use a variety of tools and approaches in their work.
