A course by Carlinhos Brown
Carlinhos Brown is a mainstay of Brazilian music and culture. He is the founder of the musical group Timbalada, one of the creators of the axé music genre, and has won several Latin Grammy Awards for his music with the Tribalistas and as Carlinhos Brown é Carlito Marrón. He also earned an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song for Real in Rio, from the movie Rio, and is currently one of the judges on The Voice Brasil.
In addition to being a successful musician, Carlinhos was the first Brazilian to earn the title of Ibero-American Ambassador for Culture, a position that focuses on cultural activism by helping underprivileged communities and promoting Brazilian music.
In 2020, he launched three new albums: Axé Inventions - Àjààlà, Umbalista, and Paxuá e Paramim em: A floresta dos rios voadores. In his latest projects, Carlinhos is focusing on new compositions, including music for the soundtrack for Cura by choreographer Deborah Colker.

PlusEs bueno pero pensé que me ayudaría con técnicas de percusionistas explicadas más a fondo. Trata más a cerca de la historia de la percusión y los tipos de sonido, pero no te enseña directamente a crear propias células (por ejemplo no trata sobre a que que instrumentos se usan dependiendo del compás, cuando usar remates, cómo hacer un buen acompañamiento a un instrumento o banda, cosas así). Está padre, pero es más como un curso reflexivo con respecto a la importancia e historia de la percusión.

This course was amazing. It truly embodied everything that is the essence of Brazilian percussion dr. Brown’s experiences in music are truly profound playing with some of the greatest and most well-known musicians in the world further creating the music school Pracatum, and being true cornerstone in his community all of the drummers in the video were people from his community that he taught in one way or another and now they’re all professional players in his band truly inspirational.
