BRIK chocolate

BRIK chocolate designs and handmake chocolates inspired by surfaces, raw materials and architecture, using natural ingredients, constant development, endless curiosity and a commitment to our planet. Bringing a new meaning to eye candy, BRIK tastes as intriguing as it looks. Our destinctive, aesthetic

Founded in 2020 by designer Kia Utzon-Frank and strategist Raffaella Baruzzo. Kia, who is teaching this course is a London-based Dane and founder of BRIK chocolate, creating genre-defying designs for clients like Wallpaper*, Sir Terence Conran, Harry Styles, Tom Dixon, The Barbican, Boghossian jewellery and Goop. Originally trained as a goldsmith, Kia turned her attention to the world of edibles, crafting cakes that look like marble sculptures, and now intricate, delicious chocolate textures inspired by architectural surfaces.

Working with chocolate as a material, exploring its possibilities and limits, she has created a new perception of this classic indulgence that sparks surprise, wonder and a continuous development of new ideas. She believes that ideas are to be shared for others and herself to create more ideas.

Raffaella is the cement that holds BRIK together. Her extensive background in sales, operations and business development has seen her work for the likes of Rococo and Fortnum&Mason. For decades the Italian native has been the architect behind the success of international chocolate, confectionary, tea, coffee and spice companies. Her gaze is firmly fixed on customer experience.
