I am an artist living in the New Forest and I am privileged to be able to keep chickens and ducks and live near both the forest and the beach. A keen environmentalist I have been known to wave down a lawnmower or two in the vain hope that our beautiful wild areas will be left untouched which we are now starting to see this year which is fabulous.
My passion is picture books which started after I began a course at the Arts Institute Bournemouth. Going onto complete both an HNC and an HND in illustration I then started designing my own greetings cards.
I am at the moment preparing to work alongside Orange beak with one of their tutorials.
The process of working on silk screen printing is what I am trying to master after a brilliant course by Charlotte farmer on Domestika. Go take a look!
I have been painting scenes of local towns and villages on canvas and one of them was entered into a local competition and shortlisted, picked for the top 3 and went on to win first place. I entered the competition to hopefully be in with a chance to be exhibited alongside sky arts semi finalists as well as art from the Montagu collection at Buckler’s Hard. So winning 1st prize was absolutely incredible.
My painting was sold straight away to Lord and lady Montagu. I need to keep pinching myself.
My painting, still exhibited at the Buckler’s hard exhibition, is now part of the Montagu collection. How crazy is that!
