Richard Mehl

Hello, I'm Richard. I'm an educator, designer, photographer, writer and dog lover.
I'm the author of "Playing with Color: 50 Graphic Experiments for Exploring Color Design Principles." I'm an adjunct professor in the Design Department at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. I've been a design educator for three decades, and a practicing designer for even longer. I studied photography in art school, and graphic design and typography in graduate school, and learned from some amazing and inspirational professors. For the past 20 years I've nurtured a passion for color, and I've developed a methodology for teaching color that I think is unique and accessible. Color also plays a big role in my professional practice, and in my daily life. I'm thrilled to be here and I look forward to sharing my love of color with you.
