Hi, I'm Kate! I'm a lifelong textile artist who loves travel and the esoteric.
I've earned my BFA and MFA studying Visual Arts: textiles, ceramics, jewellery, printmaking and film, but textile is closest to my heart. I've had wonderful opportunities to combine my love of art with my love of travel, studying and creating all over the world. This includes an exchange I got to do at Kyoto Seika University - as a Sashiko stitcher, I have deep fascination and respect for Japanese culture and aesthetics, so this was a dream come true!
Besides being passionate about textiles, it's also important to me to live meaningfully and sustainably. I rolled all these passions together with Zen Stitching, and by embracing the beautiful and practical designs of sashiko stitching, I'll help you not only mend your clothes, but also reduce textile waste and practice mindfulness.
