June Mineyama-Smithson
I am June Mineyama-Smithson (aka MAMIMU), a London-based Japanese artist/graphic designer on a mission to spread optimism with joyful colours and shapes. Besides being an artist/designer, I am a lecturer at UAL, D&AD judge and speaker at Design London, Birmingham Design Festival and Design Manchester. My work has been featured internationally on ITV, Creative Boom, Design Milk, SCMP and Cow Parade Niseko.
My interest in combining art and science to find the ‘Optimum Optimism’ lead to a collaboration with neuroscientist Dr Tara Swart, which resulted in the creation of on-screen idents for ITV.
