João Tordo

João Tordo has published seventeen books of fiction and non-fiction - literary novels, crime fiction and essays - and received several awards, including the José Saramago Literary Prize 2009 and the Fernando Namora Prize 2021. He has also worked extensively as a screenwriter (including the Netflix show "Until Life do Us Part"). He has been teaching narrative & writing for over a decade. He was shortlisted for many other prizes, including the European Literary Prize, the Oceanos Prize and the PEN Clube Prize. His books are published in many countries, including France, Italy, Germany, Hungary, Spain, Croatia, Serbia, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay or Colombia. He is a full-time writer, swimmer, guitar player and uncle. He lives in Lisbon.
