Jack Montgomery

I am a photographer living on the coast of Maine, USA. I have been photographing for several decades. My current medium is photogravure -- a process wherein photographs are turned into etchings. Since childhood, I have been intrigued by dioramas, moving silhouettes and other 3d paper worlds. (E.g. Lotte Reiniger's movies terrified me as a child. I loved them. Search her name in YouTube.) Through my children and grandchildren I have been exposed to interactive pop-up books and found them compelling. So my project for this winter it trying to bring the magic of paper arts, 3d and bookmaking to my photography. I am just getting started but very inspired by what I have seen in the course so far.
