Arturo Tedeschi

Arturo Tedeschi is an Italian architect and computational designer internationally renowned for his sculptural and visionary approach combined with research on advanced design methods, materials and fabrication technologies. His use of digital technologies blurs the line between disciplines and emphasizes the semantic and emotional values of objects which engage all the senses. Qualities such as functionality, sustainability and innovation are always complemented by a vision where forms are capable of triggering an emotional response and inspire the user. He collaborated with world-known brands and offices providing services related to algorithmic modeling, complex geometry, digital fabrication, virtual reality and data driven design. His personal work has been featured in international magazines such as Forbes, Wired, Dezeen, AD, Business Insider and exhibited worldwide. He is the author of the book AAD Algorithms-Aided Design unanimously considered the global reference on the subject and since 2011 he promoted and directed several events and workshops that trained a generation of students and professionals. In 2011 he started an intense teaching activity as the director and tutor of the AAD workshop series (2011-2019) in Rome and Milano. In 2011 and 2012 he co-directed the AA Rome Visiting School for the Architectural Association. He taught and was an invited speaker at Politecnico di Milano, IUAV (Venice), The University of Sydney, Parsons School of Design (New York), Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation, University of Edinburgh, Universidad Europea (Madrid), ControlMad (Madrid), ISCTE-IUL (Lisbon).
In 2019 he was appointed Italian Ambassador for Design by Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He lives and works in Milano.
