Andrea Love

Hi! I am an independent stop motion animator, director and fiber artist based in Port Townsend, Washington. Over the past decade I have built a career by leaning into my love of needle felting and stop motion animation. With an audience of over 4.5 million across Instagram and TikTok, I use my platform to spread joy, and bring fiber to life in satisfying and innovative ways.

I received a BA from Hampshire College in 2010, with a concentration in video production and film studies. However most of my learning has happened outside of a traditional classroom. I taught myself how to animate and needle felt through years of trial, error and persistence. Now I run a full service studio from my basement, working for clients across the globe. My Cooking with Wool series went viral in 2019, which helped me move into the world of branded content. Recent clients include Disney, Netflix, Hulu, Hermès, and the United Nations.

In addition to commercial work, I have made several short films. In 2016 I co-directed Fear, an animated documentary that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. In 2020, I co-directed the Oscar-qualifying Thumbelina adaptation Tulip with Phoebe Wahl, which screened at festivals around the world including Annecy, The New York International Children’s Film Festival and LA Shorts Fest. I collaborated with Phoebe again in 2021 with the music video Merry Christmas, Happy New Year for Ingrid Michaelson and Zooey Deschanel.

I look forward to sharing my passion for all things wool and animation!
