Hi! My name is Alessandra and I'm a young girl of 49!! :-)
I have worked for many years as a Graphic Designer, always feeling that I was leaving something behind. At the age of 34 I took my BA in Set Design and realized that working on miniature models was the very best part of every set project: not the design, not the cad work... the miniature physical sets and objects. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find a way to turn this passion into a proper job and for a while I continued working as a graphic designer...
Until I felt totally unsatisfied and frustrated and I quit my job. So I started over with drawing and illustration. I wrote and designed a children's book and I have another one on its way. But publishing is a very tough field...
Anyway, I still feel I have lots to learn and I took many courses, mainly online because the region of Italy where I live is not at all creative and there are zero opportunities. So here I am, trying to learn more about stop motion.
I have absolutely loved The nightmare before Christmas, Shaun the sheep, Pingu and many more and even if built several miniatures, I have never learnt to build the puppets. I love the Domestika courses, they are all very practical and focused and they all helped me very much!
